11/21: This is a fun one! I have been amassing the parts for this build for awhile now, through many degenerate purchases. The worst of which however was 200 grams worth of donut tiles, courtesy of an @aiden.builds trip to the factory store in Germany! A couple more factory store pickups like tan and medium nougat circle and half circle tiles, as well as a Bricklink order of 30+ botanical rings, and all the pieces were in place. That said, this build needed a kick starter, something to inspire me to begin.
Enter Brickscalibur. This yearly fantasy/castle building contest doesn’t necessarily capture my style of building, but one particular theme struck my eye. Namely, the Cotton Candy Kingdom! There quite literally couldn’t have been a better category to push me to start building, so for that I am grateful!
As for progress, the whole process has been pretty straightforward so far, albeit quite difficult. A spine of flex tube and ribs of botanical, octagon, and sonic rings has allowed for a fun bendy construction, and the belly scales nicely molded to it. I have currently placed an order for more ringpops now that PAB online is finally back, so the rest of the body will have to wait. Lastly as a quick comment, ignore the head design right now… It sucks. That’s OK though, the vision is clear and I’m very excited to finish this project, I think it will be my best work!
